| I thought i would start a build thread for this since i have the ambition to get it running and on the road. Since i sold the B14 i have done nothing with cars but i did manage to collect some parts. I wanted the P10 chassis for the suspension and looks. I think it will better serve me for what i want it to do and look better doing it. It is a 92 P10 non T with 213K miles. It is from Texas and it shows, very little rust, a few minor body issues but other than that the chassis is pretty clean. It was an Auto when it started life but was converted before me to manual. The motor in there does not run and it does have a B14 LSD trans. Other than that i know nothing about it. How it sits now / when i got it And how it looked during the winter Not sure how much progress there will be but i would like to have it on the road by the end of April or middle of May. |

| First thing on the list is to pull the old motor and put in a VE. I bought a VE with rod knock that i planned on rebuilding. I was going to do an all motor build but i can not make up my mind so i am just getting it running. After the rest of the car is where i want it i will tear back into the motor. Found a nice surprise when i pulled the bottom end apart on the #4 rod. The rod and crank are scored and i want to make a reliable repair. So after going back and forth on what to do i have decided to throw in a DE crank i have laying around, get new bearings, and a new rod. Hopefully i have some rods on the way and once i know what bearings to get they will be on order. |

| Didn't plan on it. Do you think it would need it? |

| ^ that would be a question to ask Mike (my hubby) on friday when you stop by for the carpet because he's the one with the knowledge (he's rebuilt I forget how many motors already) and I know very little about this stuff.
I know we didn't balance our Miata motor after rebuild and it shakes around a little more than it should now.. doh!
Maybe you are fine if you don't change any pistons though? The miata motor has all new pistons but the same crank...
This stuff gets confusing to me I must admit... |

| I dont think there will be a problem. Lots of people are swapping cranks w/o balancing. The pistons have to weight close to the same, i can measure when i get home, and im going from a 4CW to an 8CW crank, it should be silky smooth. |

| Should of let me know sooner. I had the my 8cw crank from the original motor in that car. It was in good shape. Could of let you have it. But, 8cw cranks are a dime a dozen. I don't think you need to balance it if the journals are in good shape. Should be fine. |

| I have an 8CW crank at the house thats in great shape. I also have a lead on a 4CW crank and 4 rods for a good price that i am trying to pick up. |

| Im in a mental battle with myself. Do i keep the P11 meshs (Maybe painting them flat black) or get a new wheel and use the almost new tires i have from the B14. The wheels would be about $70 more but would look better being a 16". Here are the wheels i am thinking about. |
