 | Subject: Blasted Herpes... Fri May 14, 2010 11:40 pm | |
| Hello all.
I have recently re-contracted my case of the sr20 herpes, as I have repurchased my b14 that I sold in 2007. Needless to say she was in pretty terrible shape and I have been attempting to right all of the previous owners wrongs. As such, I have replaced an extremely long list of body, mechanical, and electrical pieces. I have been around the sr20 game since ~2000 or so, and have been away (by St. Louis) at school (undergraduate and graduate).
I just graduated with my masters and am now moving back to Waterloo, WI. ~May 31st. I will be searching for a position in the policy analysis field. My school research has consisted of nuclear weapons, terrorism/ homeland security, and U.S. foreign policy, but I will probably just be using my research skills in whatever new position I obtain. Anyways, I figured I should finally make a username and get away from my very recent frequentness of being a lurker of this forum. Hope to see you all at meets and wrenching sessions soon.
~Joe |

| I currently do not have any with me, as I am visiting my brother and sister in-law. I will definitely post some when I get back home on Sunday. Thanks for the welcome. |

| DJ...woot I'm glad to be back and hopefully my job search up that way will be fruitful. I'll definitely keep an eye out for upcoming meets (after I get up there and settled in). As for pictures, we are currently getting some pretty intense rain in St. Louis so that> me. I am taking the car to get detailed this week, so I will take some after that point. For now just imagine a 98' b14 with 95-97 head lights, 98' sentra honeycomb grill, and a beat up 98' front bumper. Besides that imagine a drivers side door with a sizeable dent and a hood which is in need of some attention...lol Other than that stuff, it has ad22's, 91' intake came, wai, redline shift boots, nx2k radiator, soon to have rear agx's (woot for Milwaukee craigslist), and fusion zri summer tires. Since I purchased it in March, I have done/ added: New head lights, grills, drivers mirror, hood, water pump, thermostat, hoses, nx2k radiator, passenger side axle, tie rod end, sway bar end link, valve cover gasket, charcoal/ evap canister, new evap purge solenoid, front O2 sensor, and normal maintenance stuff (oil change, trans fluid change, bled brakes, pcv valve, etc.). I'm unfortunately sure there are also a number of things that I may have missed in this list. Needless to say it has been a love/ hate relationship. |

| Just scored a new set of Dunlop Dizerra DZ101's for the b14 rims...woot. Luckily the rims will be coming with me and be used on my next vehicle, as I currently have a trade offer in the works for the b14. |

| Update: The "new", older, and better sr20. Woot for a roller rocker with only 30k miles. Plans for right now are marginal at best. Throwing on some gr2's and stock springs to get it off the nx1600 setup, new ball joint, figure out the timing, and adjust the idle...then drive it until a csk setup can be installed. Here's the car for anyone who doesn't know it already: 92' NX2k Old glory on her way out (she's for sale, btw) http://www.sr20-forum.com/cars/33611-fs-st-louis-1998-200sx-se-r.html |

| Damn, Joe, does that NX have a lift kit on it? Car looks clean, though. Very nice!
We still on for Saturday? Pm me if you want to. |

| On the plus side it looks a bit better now that the suspension has settled. The NX has been sitting for well over a year. On the downside the suspension will have to settle once again, after I install the gr2/ stock spring setup this week. |

| *update*
The addiction is now heading back to Northern Illinois, as another sr20 member is picking it up this weekend. Since being in Washington D.C. I have driven the NX 5-6 times in a 8 weeks, and I decided it just wasn't viable for me to currently have a project. The new owner has some fairly big plans for the car. I am sure he will make it out to the localish meets and post up once he gets everything in order. In the end the new owner and I were able to work out a pretty killer deal on his side of things and I am sure he will love every minute about owning the car. |
