This is a thought i have been having for awhile now. Instead of cams, why cant we use some type of solenoid or actuator? This way you can control duration, lift, and timing with simple programming. Wouldnt this be a whole lot easier to make cars faster? Of course you would have to come up with something that is reliable and timed with the crank, but why not?
